World Map of the Best Food per Country, Through the Eyes of a Man Who Visited Them All

This is part of my series about maps of the world where I compare each country I have visited in different categories. The point of this analysis is that after having visited almost all the countries (173/196) I believe I have finally acquired the experience and the credibility to be able to put them side by side and give an honest comparison. Of course, many of them are personal views following my personal tastes and is only a generalization. But since I get so many questions all the time about “what are my favorite country, for this, for that, for everything… “ I decided to represent my results graphically for people to get a better understanding of my opinion. Eating is definitely one of the best parts of traveling! Local food is a great way to represent local culture and its creativity, in the form that is decodable only by our senses! It plays such an important role that it is, with accommodation, probably the […]

But since I get so many questions all the time about “what is my favorite country, for this, for that, for everything… “ I decided to represent my results graphically for people to get a better understanding of my opinion. The world is truly a marvelous place! And humans are truly an amazing species! It is pretty incredible what human intelligence and creativity have been able to do in different places in the world, under different climates, different geography, and different beliefs. This creativity has resulted […]

Why Thailand Should Be Top of Your List to Settle as a Digital Nomad

There was a recent boom of interest in Thailand for the past 15 years and it rapidly converted into the top five destinations for tourism worldwide. Actually, Bangkok is now ranked first in the most visited city in the world in 2016 passing stronghold tourist cities like New York, London, and even Paris. And being the main hub for tourists to reach its beautiful beaches, it’s no surprise it gained that rank. I love Thailand, it’s just an amazing country for so many reasons, especially for its amazingly well-preserved traditions and culture, the kindness of its people, the receptivity of the Thai people and their openness to the world, Its amazing food and its stunning tropical land and impressive beaches. These are just the main characteristics of what comes out of my mind as I write this article, but it expands way more than only this. And just as if it wasn’t enough, you get all this at a bargain! To my eyes and compared […]

Brno in the Czech Republic is definitely undervalued in favour of Prague!

I was really surprised when I got here. This little city, still the second in the Czech Republic, is very nice! The old town is vibrant and moving a lot, tons of people everywhere yet now overloaded with cars. Its the Capital of Moravia Region, and used to be a suburb of Vienna (the flag of Brno is almost identical to the Austrian Flag, which one could easily confuse). I love Young cities, and this place is known as a university town, so it qualifies really well! nice little castle to visit up on top of a hill, which is where this shot has been taken. Timisoara, Romainia. The most liveable city in Romainia

So I spent a month around most of the biggest cities in Romania, 2 weeks in Bucharest, couple days around the Saxon triangle of Transilvania and 1 week in both Cluj Napoca and Timisoara. Definitely, this charming city also called the little Vienna deserves its title! Very nice old town, nice cafes, active Erasmus city, big modern shopping malls. Really felt comfortable in this city and if I had to choose a city to live in Romania, in would be here. It’s on my list of “must come back” cities.

My Travel Map: Updated March 2016

I just finished one of the most puzzling and logistically hard to plan leg of my travels, the Pacific Islands. My count is now up to 173, a quick rise since these minuscule islands are quick to visit. It was especially hard to plan and synchronize the flights between the islands and spent 1 week in Bali planing to make it work. and it did. but it was risky… flights are non-refundable… Which means in the peak of the cyclone season, if I miss a flight on one island, I will miss the remainder of my trip! and oddly enough, it almost happens! Cyclone Winston, the strongest cyclone ever recoreded in the southern hemisphere struck Fiji, while I was waiting to fly there from the Marshall Islands. But I was just a few days lucky, I managed to catch my flight and continue my adventures.
