World Map of the Best Food per Country, Through the Eyes of a Man Who Visited Them All

This is part of my series about maps of the world where I compare each country I have visited in different categories. The point of this analysis is that after having visited almost all the countries (173/196) I believe I have finally acquired the experience and the credibility to be able to put them side by side and give an honest comparison. Of course, many of them are personal views following my personal tastes and is only a generalization. But since I get so many questions all the time about “what are my favorite country, for this, for that, for everything… “ I decided to represent my results graphically for people to get a better understanding of my opinion. Eating is definitely one of the best parts of traveling! Local food is a great way to represent local culture and its creativity, in the form […]

Why Colombia Should Be Top of Your List to Settle as a Digital Nomad

With the recent increase in security in Colombia due to agreements between the Colombian Government and the long-term Guerilla named FARC, tourism in the country has enjoyed a decent increase in popularity. Also made famous by the Medellin Cartel leader Pablo Escobar in many films and T.V. Series, Medellin stands as the highlight of most people’s itinerary, together with Cartagena. Many people started asking me lately for tips about this beautiful country and where they should go while visiting. I have mentioned many times that my favorite country in South America was Brazil, but in the past few years, I have had a preference for Colombia and having stayed there several times, it is one of my top destinations for a great living place as a Digital Nomad. The Quality /Price ratio is super high in Colombia! You get an amazing lifestyle with great infrastructure […]

World Ranking MAP of the Best Digital Nomad Destinations

So you finally decided to become a Digital Nomad! You’ve found that brilliant idea that will make you job independent, you just bought that brand new Macbook and you had the courage to quit your job that made you so unhappy for so many years. You’re all set! But one question remains… Where should you go? That’s an absolutely legitimate question if you ask me! And why should you ask me? Probably because I’ve been living in most of those countries that you see in green on that map, working as one of the first digital nomads out there over the past 2 decades. I’ve tested them, for the good, for the bad, so I’ve prepared this map to help you not make the same mistakes as I have. With the recent boom in Digital Nomad, many people leave home with very little knowledge of […]

Prague: as Grandiose as Paris or Rome

I just finished a really nice 2 weeks in the Czech Republic. Seems like Prague has been forgotten for too long on the list of the most beautiful cities in the world where cities like Paris, London, Rome or New York take most of the attention. I think Prague is pretty much heel to heel with Paris in terms of being a Grandiose Capital! Gone are those years where Prague was just a gray communist city, it now proudly stands as what I believe one of the most impressive old towns in Europe! Tourism has also picked up quite a bit since last time I was here in 2006 with a couple friends. Its just as packed as Paris with tons of tourist buses and guided groups of 50 walking all over the place, making it hard to navigate normally in the streets. One recommendation […]

Brno in the Czech Republic is definitely undervalued in favour of Prague!

I was really surprised when I got here. This little city, still the second in the Czech Republic, is very nice! The old town is vibrant and moving a lot, tons of people everywhere yet now overloaded with cars. Its the Capital of Moravia Region, and used to be a suburb of Vienna (the flag of Brno is almost identical to the Austrian Flag, which one could easily confuse). I love Young cities, and this place is known as a university town, so it qualifies really well! nice little castle to visit up on top of a hill, which is where this shot has been taken. Timisoara, Romainia. The most liveable city in Romainia

So I spent a month around most of the biggest cities in Romania, 2 weeks in Bucharest, couple days around the Saxon triangle of Transilvania and 1 week in both Cluj Napoca and Timisoara. Definitely, this charming city also called the little Vienna deserves its title! Very nice old town, nice cafes, active Erasmus city, big modern shopping malls. Really felt comfortable in this city and if I had to choose a city to live in Romania, in would be here. It’s on my list of “must come back” cities.

Meanwhile in the Mountains of Transilvania… Well it’s Winter again…

Made my way through the Mountains of Transilvania, after some time in Bucharest, the Capital. And while we had a nice and comfortable 30 degrees during Easter, its back to Winter over here in Brasov! about 30cm of snow, with these big wet snowflakes we usually get around Christmas in Canada. With all the nice feelings that come with it! I’m setting off to visit Sighisoara and Sibiu, which forms the Saxon Triangle around Transilvania, German decent towns which still holds impressive german architecture!

Dubrovnik, Croatia, ruined by Game of Thrones…

Yes, that’s right… ruined… So I first came here back in 2005, when it was still a European city dreaded by most travelers. It was still off the beaten track, and felt like a reward to arrive here with its beautiful old town! I came back over the years and ever since Game of Thrones took over the place, it has lost its Feel… Don’t get me wrong, it is still beautiful, but a beautiful flower without a smell, a flavor, is not the same anymore… It has become a Disney Land for American consumers eager to satisfy their television fantasy to “I’ve been on the scene of the game of Thrones”… Cruise Ships flood the area, everything has to do with the game of thrones… Anyway, I never watched an episode of Game of Thrones as I don’t watch much TV… But maybe its an […]

171/196: Tuvalu – I finally found paradise…

This is one of my favorite picture of all time… I’ve taken this picture offshore of Tuvalu on some desert island while cruising around on a little dingy boat! It was mind-blowing, even better in real life but this is the best I could shoot it to represent its full flavor. Magnificent coral creates some sort of 3D effect with depth. Love it!   Its a Panorama, I made it about 150 degrees, which is my favorite width on panoramas, it kind of represents the eyesight
