Suriname, nestled on the northeastern coast of South America, is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. While it may not be as well-known as some other destinations, Suriname boasts a unique blend of cultures, lush rainforests, and colonial architecture. Here are some of the best cities to visit in Suriname:
- Paramaribo: As the capital and largest city of Suriname, Paramaribo is a vibrant melting pot of cultures and ethnicities. Explore the historic inner city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its well-preserved Dutch colonial architecture. Highlights include the monumental wooden St. Peter and Paul Cathedral, the iconic Independence Square, and the bustling Central Market.
